ROCKVILLE, MD and SHENZHEN, CHINA, August 28, 2026 – HighTide Therapeutics, Inc. (2511.HK), an innovative biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of multifunctional, multi-targeted therapies for cardiovascular–kidney–metabolic (CKM) diseases, today participated in the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2026 in Munich, Germany. In an oral presentation, Dr. Filip Surmont, Chief Medical Officer of the company, presented data from multiple HTD1801 studies in CKM diseases, highlighting HTD1801’s potential as a multisystem CKM therapy.
CKM diseases are systemic disorders linking metabolic dysfunction, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and subclinical vascular injury to overt cardiovascular disease (CVD) and excess cardiovascular mortality. As an oral anti-inflammatory metabolic modulator (AIMM) that exerts its biological activity through the AMPK–NLRP3 axis, HTD1801 has demonstrated in clinical and preclinical trials the potential to address interconnected metabolic, cardiovascular, inflammatory, renal abnormalities, as well as obesity, underlying CKM diseases.
Data presented at ESC highlighted HTD1801’s potential to improve glycemic control and lipid metabolism, address atherogenic lipid abnormalities and vascular inflammation, and modulate kidney-related parameters. In clinical studies, in patients with mild renal impairment (eGFR 60–90 mL/min/1.73 m²), HTD1801 has shown disease modifying potential with improvements in eGFR observed over 52 weeks. In preclinical obesity studies, addition of HTD1801 to low-dose GLP-1 therapy resulted in an enhanced weight loss and reduced post-treatment weight regain, while maintaining efficacy with a lower GLP-1 dose.
These multisystem effects support further evaluation of HTD1801 as a potential multisystem therapy for CKM diseases, with the potential to address interconnected metabolic, renal, and cardiovascular abnormalities across the CKM continuum.
Abstract Title: HTD1801 as a Multisystem Cardiovascular ‑Kidney‑Metabolic Therapy in Type 2 Diabetes: Phase III SYMPHONY Trials Demonstrate Early CKM Risk Modification

Speaker: Dr. Filip Surmont, Chief Medical Officer of HighTide Therapeutics
“The study results presented at ESC further highlight the clear potential of HTD1801 to become a novel disease-modifying therapy for CKM diseases,” said Dr. Filip Surmont, Chief Medical Officer of HighTide Therapeutics. “CKM diseases involve interconnected metabolic, renal, and cardiovascular abnormalities, requiring therapeutic approaches that address multiple disease drivers. HTD1801 has demonstrated potential to provide metabolic regulation and favorable kidney effects across the CKM continuum. We will continue advancing the clinical development and commercialization of HTD1801 to bring innovative therapies to patients with CKM diseases worldwide.”
About HTD1801
HTD1801 is a first-in-class new molecular entity that targets the residual risks underlying cardiovascular–kidney–metabolic (CKM) diseases. It is an orally delivered, anti-inflammatory metabolic modulator (AIMM) that, as a single molecule, exerts its biological activity through the AMPK–NLRP3 axis, two complementary pathways that mitigate metabolic dysfunction. Multiple global clinical studies have demonstrated the comprehensive benefits of HTD1801, including improved insulin sensitivity, glycemic control, lipid lowering, renal protection, weight reduction, hepatic improvement, and anti-inflammatory effects. Collectively, these findings support the potential of HTD1801 to serve as a foundational therapy in CKM disease management.
